In late 2016, officials in St. Louis arrested 27-year-old Cedric Powe, a native of St. Charles, Missouri, in connection with the alleged beating of his then-girlfriend, who was 20 years old.
Cedric Powe hit, kicked, and strangled Chelsea Simmons during the beatings and attempted suicide in 2015.
In 2012, Chelsea’s father was so incensed by the incident that he offered a $500 prize for any information on Cedric Powe. Chelsea was left permanently blind in her left eye.
In December 2013, Chelsea was again abducted, and Cedric asked that her family pay a financial ransom to ensure her safe return during the holidays.

After knocking Chelsea unconscious so she couldn’t defend herself, Cedric Powe allegedly stomped on her head.

Her family was informed by doctors that she was near death.

She was so severely strangled that her neck was covered in several bruises.

Chelsea is still scarred from this experience, but she now lives a happy life with her family and children.

Even now, Cedric Powe is still incarcerated.
